0-60 BLOOPER. Getting caught by a cop in my fit.

I was setting up to make a 0-60 clip when about a minute in I get stopped by the police (who pulled up to the side) just as I'm about to launch. I dropped my phone but it kept recording. This is why illinois police are awesome. Then it's followed by 5 minutes of me being retardedly tramatized just repeating "nothing crazy"

Watch the fail here:
ImageShack® - Online Photo and Video Hosting

*revs engine to launch*
*sees officer pop out of nowhere*
*rolls down window"
Officer: "Are you lost?"
Me: "No, just doing some tuning with the laptop and the Air/Fuel ratios *shows laptop*"
Officer: *HAHAHAHA*
Me: "Not being crazy"
Officer: "Alright"
Me: "Thanks for checking"

...

They must of heard you a block away and wanted to see your car. Good thing you didn't launch but I would do the same thing " Nothing Crazy" because I know what could of happened.

That sounds like exactly how I'd handle it. Just state with some confidence what your are doing, and sound responsible about it.

It reminds me of a time when Shiv from vishnu perf. and I happened to be out on the road together while he was tuning someone else's car with a laptop (in mazdaspeed miatas) and both did some heavy power-on sliding around a corner right in front of a cop. Pulled over and Shiv said "I've got this." Basically the same deal - since we were not douchey young f*cks, and were honest, he let us off. I think the officer liked the cars, honestly.

True!
Citation #1) Driving while distracted
#2) Modified exhaust
#3) Resisting

You'd have been on probation for like 2 years and paid about ~$10k in fines ahahahah

You really can't get all there is out of a boosted car without it being painfully loud... You really should look into an Apexi exhaust control valve.. I know mine has saved me from being hassled by bored cops that were dying to ruin someones day... Closing it partially when on the highway at 25% throttle it works well enough that the sheet metal and plastic parts aren't resonating, my vision isn't blurred and my ears aren't bleeding.

having your phone recording video and having a notebook in the front seat...yup, you'd get cited for that.

That was awesome. Every day I see your car at the end of your post and think," damn, I really need to take the time and do that to mine...." Eventually I will either do it, or I will go and buy a faster car. One of them will happen.

i love the realism of the glassy eyed, hand numbing aftermath of almost getting busted for stupid shit you were about to do by a ninja cop.

Gotta love it when you get lucky like that... it reminds me of a situation a bit over a year ago that I had, while I still drove my old Saturn. I had sped up to make a green light, and made it - completely oblivious to the local gendarme waiting to turn, and going about 55 where the road went to a 40 speed limit (it has since been raised back to 45 where it had historically been). So, I'm humming along, and see the cherries come on behind me.

So, he takes the license and goes back to the car to run it, then comes back to me and said that since I had a clean record, he'd let it slide this time. *whew* Needless to say, I was extra-careful the rest of the way home.

Lucky on the no ticket. I think my guilty face would have ruined whatever logic I might have used.
