Hauling Wood on My Roof

Hauling Wood on My Roof
This is just another one of those "Look what you can haul with a Fit" pictures. The rack is set up with foam pipe insulation for kayaks, but this was just a short 1 mile haul at low speed and I hauled the wood on top of the foam. Somebody down the road was cleaning out a barn, so I grabbed a few good pieces and stuffed them in my barn. This was pretty heavy, but did no harm. I would not have wanted to do any high speeds or bouncy roads with this weight and the long overhangs.
(FYI, it's an Inno rack)

Hi Ultrawolf - great pic. What length bars did you go with? I'm interested in an Inno rack and want to get the maximum legal overhang (hoping to fit a lot of stuff up there). I *think* their 71 inch bars are the way to go, but would love confirmation.

I'll double-check when I get home later, but I think I'm using 58 inch bars. 71 inch would be a lot of overhang, a definite head-banger.
Here's some more info in a couple of other threads:

By the way, I got a super-deal on a Thule rack, which I like a bit more (see those other threads for my comments on Inno versus Thule). So I might sell the Inno rack. I'm not sure though because we have two Fits and it's nice to have two racks available.
