TPMS sensor error

Today I had a tire monkey break one of my TPMS sensors while patching a tire. They replaced the sensor with a new one from Honda, but the TPMS light is still on. Is there something that the shop still needs to do to mate the sensor to the car, or will the light go off after a few miles of driving?

Honda needs to program the sensor to work with the car. Very expensive..

I broke my TPMS sensor and the dealer wanted to charge 92 dollars for a replacement. If the tire place replaced the sensor with a Honda TPMS just take it to the dealer and say the light came on. Maybe get a oil change and they will sink it for free. Honda TPMS - Honda TPMS Tools & Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems

to sync a new tpms sensor, they need the code of the sensor...which can only be gotten off the sensor itself. once its mounted in the tire, they need to remove, get teh code, and rebinstall the tire.

unless the tire shop that replaced your sensor gave you teh code, ^ that will have to be done.

really? i just use a OTC scan tool to sync/reset my sensors. nothing worth going to the dealer for. I also find the term "tire monkey" degrading and derogatory.
