whats the difference

ok im fairly new here and dont have a fit yet but some time next week im planing on geting mine.now heres my question.i dont want to get the sport because im planing on changing everything,so what exactly is the difference between the base and sport.?besides the front bumper and no sides. will all the after market parts still fit?(exhaust , body kit etc.) i dont want to waste the extra money on a stock bumper if im going to change it out. all your info will help in my decision. thanks

As far as body kits go, I don't think there are many (if any) for the USDM fit. JDM fit has options but they have a different front & rear. engine is the same and if you are considering Auto, you won't get the paddle shifters [which many auto drivers like] on the base model. The sport also has a rear sway bar which the base does not and there are some other creature comforts that are not available. As for upgrades, I'm guessing you will be replacing wheels so there's no gain for going sport there except that if you were to sell the sport wheels, you'd make back some of the money (doubtful you could sell the base wheels for much). I don't think there are many aftermarket wings for the rear so that would be another consideration. Look at the fit page on honda's website. you can compare models and see exactly what the differences are between the trim levels.

In terms of looks, the only other differences are the spoiler and the wheels/tires.

Sport - 185/55/16 on 16"x6" aluminum wheels
Base - 175/65/15 15"x5"? Steel wheels (I think, I have sport).

There are other differences that you don't see right away. Rear sway bar and a couple of interior things.

The only thing you can't do, putting in the OEM RSB, because it's IN the torsion beam for the rear "axle." But you can just put a stiffer aftermarket RSB to make up for it.

have you tried looking at honda's website? all the differences are arranged in this chart: 2011 Honda Fit - Specifications - Official Site
