Anyone do a stereo overhaul?
Im sort of a SQL sort of guy, like to get everything nice and loud but keep it sounding good.
I wont lie, I bought the fit because its a hatch and I could drop an 18 in it with space to spare. My question is where do you guys run your amp wires through at? I will be running some 2/0 to the back this weekend along with upgrading the big three.
I am also looking to find out if Ill need to make baffles or if 6.5s will bolt in where the factories were.
I saw a thread about the tweets popping out so thats exciting, does anyone know where the wires for the tweets/doors meet up? where i could separate them and run a crossover inline?
Also how does the fit handle with like 350lbs in the back? Im going to be running a couple group 31 batteries in addition to sub(s) /amp and im worried about that more than anything.
Thanks ,

Most people run the power behind the drivers fender and into the wire harness from the door into the car almost where the hood release lever is, not sure how hard it would be for 2/0, you can always drill through the firewall. As for the 6.5s, if your going for spl, I would say go with baffles, quality work only needs to be done once...
If your going to run daily with 350 lbs you're definitely going to feel a difference in several performance aspects, you could always go with a stiffer suspension setup to make up a little bit. You should definitely start a project thread when you tackle this!

It handles like a totally different vehicle with the extra weight. I had mine loaded down when I was moving stuff for a friend. Had 14 boxes of books in trunk and you could tell it was heavy. The car was squatting. Probably overloaded but I never thought about it at the time. Acceleration was just about gone but that was the only thing i really noticed, mostly because I was on the highway the whole time. I'm sure I had at least 600lbs of stuff in there though so hopefully it isnt as bad for you.
Good luck with the build! Would love to see pictures!

Hopefully going to work on it this weekend depending on when the dash kit gets here and if it rains. I had a pontiac G5 previously and i fear that the doors will be similar to it, ill probably modify the existing baffles and dynamat the crap out of them to make sure they are sealed and still clear the door panel.
In the pontiac i was running 180rms to each door component set and 2krms to the sub.
Ill post some pics of the equipment i have for the first build.

Thats one of the setups we ran in my chevette for a competition, 4th place, 143.1dbs at 35hz, pushing 1900rms to a single 12inch sub and blew one of the side windows out, I am worried about the FIT flexing, guy ran 6kw to two 15s in a scion XD and broke the rear wiper thingy off haha.
