OEM All Weather Floormats...

After a little over 9 months of Fit ownership there has been very little that has disappointed me. Infact, I'm very happy and find myself appreciating The Fit as an overall vehicle, more and more...

When I bought the Fit I knew about the reported "cheap" carpeting. So I thought it important to have good floormats. I suppose I shouldn't complain too much, because the dealership threw them in for free. I have the Honda OEM all weather floormats...

Well one of the few disappointments in my Fit has been the durability of these mats. Less than 10 months and the soft rubber has worn down and very, very thin. Of course the driver's side is the worse, the fit Monikier is worn down to a thin point....according to the matt I now drive a IT....

I like the fitment...especially of the rear mats...but it just seems Honda used rubber that is too soft. Mats are a wear item, so I expect wear, but in less than 10 months to have them look so crappy?...I'm disappointed.

I'm considering purchasing some Weathertechs...all though I have heard good and bad about them as well...

Even though I like the utility of all weather...I'm thinking even good quality rubber backed carpeted mats would wear better than these rubber mats did....

Any thoughts?

I suppose after 10 months if the worst thing you can complain about is the mats going bad.....then that's a pretty good thing...

I've always kept clear of carpeted mats. My concern is w/ moisture and once they get wet you'll need to pull them to really get them dry again.

Look at it this way, the dealer 'threw them in'. Why not invest in another set? I've found by giving them a good wash they don't look too bad. I've had no problem with undue wear at all.

The weatechs are supposed to be well rated, however, a bit pricey. Basically a basin - a bit too much for my tastes. Not sure they would wear much better.

I just put a set of GoodYear mats in my daughters Yaris and they seem first class. Found them at AutoZone for under $30. Heavy duty rubber - not a bad fit.

Weathertechs are pricey, but provide complete coverage. I have them in my car, and recently bought them for my parents new minivan.

This is my first winter season using them, and so far they are great. I haven't been able to wash them yet, but I lifted them up recently and the carpet underneath is dry and clean

For a small car like ours, I love how the digital fit ones cover the rear 'hump'. (Rear is one piece):

I have the OEM All-Weather Honda mats; my car is 16 months old.
My mats, too, have worn from where my foot rests AND I notice that the mat is not "deep" enough to actually catch water and as a result the driver's side carpet was soaked under the dead pedal where water had just run off the mat. Kind of pointless, really.
Now that it is drying out, the carpets are turning white (from salt) where the water was.
I like my car, but it is somewhat difficult to keep it clean. I, too, may buy the digital fit mats from weathertech as a few more winters of salty water all over the place and that poor-quality carpeting is going to be done for...
