Need rim education........

I'm shopping for steel rims for next years winter for my 09 fit sport. gonna get a set of dedicated snow tires and rims, the stock tires mainly suck in the snow....bridgestones.

Tell me what i need to look for regarding rims.....i don't know squat about this type thing. Do I just need to look for the proper size, ie 15" and then get the right lug nut configuration??? Looking on c-list and ebay, but i don't want to order the wrong thing.

Thanks

Search CL for Integra rims, Integra, Wheels, Civic Wheels, Civic Rims and something should come up. Don't limit yourself to steel wheels as a set of 15" alloys may just present themselves at a killer deal.

Any civic rim prior to 2006 will work. any Integra Rim (Prior to 2002 when the integra was renamed the RSX) will work. you want to look for a 4x100 bolt pattern.

My snow tires are on 15" Integra Mesh alloy wheels that I got off of CL for $50. Much Nicer looking than steelies and hey... $50 is great. Shipping on ebay will kill any deal.

Be careful though and make sure the bolt pattern is 4x100. Many people think that all 4-bolt patterns are the same. The Accord and prelude used a 4x114.5 bolt pattern so they won't work. Only the Civic(including Del sol), Integra, & FIT used the 4x100 (4 bolts, 100 mm diagonally between the center of two bolts.)

If you insist on 15" wheels, your best bet is to look for Honda Fit Sport wheels off of a 2007 or 2008...they are aluminum and will have the corect 55-mm offset. I'm just about done wearing out my 15" snow tires (4 seasons with my Nokian Hakkapeliitta RSi tires) and have already purchased 16" X 6.5" (Honda Accessory) wheels for my new snow shoes for next season. There is no reason to buy steel wheels...they are heavy and ugly...do not buy steel!

Be careful if you think about mix-and-match, as the rims from my 87 Integra were 14" steel. Other '87 Integras (the more expensive model) had alloy rims.
