fit with winter tires

Nice choice of Tires.
I got a great deal on some 15" Integra "Mesh" wheels on CL and had some General Altimaxx Arctic Snows put on. Almost went with Steelies but these came along and were something I couldn't pass up. $50 for the wheels (all 4).

901 - you just need snow now and some center caps. I have old Civic ones. I did a rather poor job of painting the wheels as some has come off
in car wash but still when dirty can't notice.

I'm confused. Forgive me if I missed something, but why do you have snows and steelies installed and there's palm trees in the background? Again, pardon me if I missed something (like the Canadian reference in your name), but I used to live in Florida, with palm trees, and, for the most part, people who live around palm trees generally do not require snows and steelies!

I had them on too early, as well - we had several 50+ days before it started to get reasonably cool out this fall.

Where did you read that? Anyways they will wear somewhat faster same as if you drive at high speeds all the time with them but the wear is not terribly faster. Will still get decent life from them.

Wow, Canada to Florida... all that way just to purchase snow tires and steelies? I guess Florida's snow tires and steelies are better than Canada's, huh?

Just just got a set of Michelin X-ice's on 15 inch alloys from Tirerack and there have been great in the ice and snow. Also took a 1600 mile round trip to North Carolina on them ( hey, there was snow down there too) and they worked great.
The all seasons were okay in the snow, but the car slipped a bit so I upgraded.....

I've got a silly friend who was too lazy to change out his snow tires for the whole year. He drove through out the summer and after 1 full year, only about 50% of thread left

Here's why...my 2009 fit with Nav is from California actually...had her prepared for what we have here. 4 feet of the white stuff!
most of the roads are decent...but some of the side streets are snow and ice covered! handles great with snow tires!! Well worth it..the Michelin X-ice Xi2

I have the exact same setup on my Fit :P The winter tires make a huge differance. I've driven my mothers car a couple years back with both all seasons and snows in the winter and having winter tires is god-send up here.
Where abouts are you Canuck?

Hey can you provide some information about those center caps? I'm trying to get a set to complete () my Fit's winter style but can't figure out exactly which years of Civic they're off of. Measurements of the backside or a photo of the snap-in tabs would be most rep-able. Thanks!

Laughing Man -
I believe the center caps are from an 86 Civic.
There are no interior clips. They actually go over the outside raise little lip of the wheel. They originally had a small neoprene covering on the edge. Mine was all worn off so I wrapped them with black friction tape. I then pounded them on with a rubber mallet.
Sorry I cannot give you the measurement as I do not remember and they are too hard to get off. 2 1/8th seems to ring a bell.
They are hard to find on Ebay. There are some out there with a weird looking H that will not fit. I had spoken with dealer and they think they found something that would fit but were expensive. Mine have a lot of rust but being winter they are usually dirty so it does not show.
Just saw these on Ebay. They sure look the same. Originally they are painted black with the H in chrome. I stripped mine.

"Dear xxxxxxx,
no, no time for any of that. i am seling them cheaply and they only fit honda vehicles described. you cannot "make these fit" anything else - hubcapjoes"
Charming fellow eh? Here's another listing on ebay that I thought might be similar to what you have. Do the bottoms of them look like your set with the little ribs? He measured these for me at 2.6 inches across the bottom which seemed a little bit for our application.

Okay good to know that you'd stripped them. I was trying to find them in the chrome look you have, but they all seemed to be pretty different. Funny thing: I emailed that guy with the ebay posting yesterday asking if he could measure them or take a photo of the backside and here's the response I got.

Yes those are the ones with the ribs. Look to be even nicer than mine. Not a bad price either.
