2010 Sport A/T Problems- only when cold
Searched to no avail....
My 2010 fit sport a/t only has ~5k miles on it but has a consistent issue with first gear engagement when cold.
I'm in the sf bay area so it's not that cold. In mornings, I back out of my driveway, and go around the block to a stop sign (less than 1/4 mile). When I go to start after stopping at the stop sign, I get a light but noticeable "thud" where the RPMs rise and it basically drops into first gear. The stop sign is on the very slightest of a grade uphill. It does this consistently every day. I'll make a mental note to watch the tach to see what rpm it's engaging at. It isn't going up to 3k or something, just higher than it should and engaging with a thud. At the next stop sign another 1/8 mile away (totally flat) it doesn't do it at all!
Anyone else have this problem?
I'm thinking about doing a drain and fill with the new ATF that came out because I HATE going to the dealership (that's why I bought a honda).

Yeah ya know I think that may just be it. I was thinking it was revving up to engage in 1st, but it might be the process of it downshifting into first late as I stop, but only when cold. It really feels like something that the new fluid might fix.

I experience the exact same issue with my 2010 Fit. Shifting from 1st to 2nd is often rough and is always worse in the mornings. I'm following these threads to see what others experience.
I'm going to bring it into the dealer, but I'm still trying to figure out a pattern to the odd shifting.
