Approaching 600 Miles!
I am looking forward to reaching that magic end of break in number. I have been driving on eggshells up to now.The manual says to limit revs and vary your speed. My driving has been almost entirely non highway up to now. I have had the car since 11/22 and have not done that much driving yet. I will be driving a bit more for work very soon. Making the trip from Syracuse to Atlantic City several times at 320 miles each way. I use 1 of 2 routes to get there and back. There's the all highway with tolls route, and the some highway, and some secondary roads that's free and the same distance route. The former takes about 5.5 hours, while the latter about 45 mins to an hour longer. Traveling on secondary roads affords me the opportunity to stop along way in alot more places if I need to. Just 40 miles to go until I reach 600.

It's just a recommendation. If you need to drive highway, do it. If you need a little more rpm to get out of a spot, do it.
Just don't go overboard. The the recommendation really translates into... "take it easy, no hot rodding!"

I drove very gently for 600 miles...
Then I started using the accelerator. And I know what it reminds me of- when you step on the gas with a turbo and there's a turbo-lag before the car blasts off.
Same thing with the Fit- there's a lag, just no blast-off.
