2011 upgrades retrofit? (cruise control, mostly)
According to an article I just got from my honda dealer, the upgrades to the 2011 are as follows:
"The diminutive, yet practical five-door hatchback sees its base model add standard cruise control, remote keyless entry, a USB audio interface and standard Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA). In fact, the VSA electronic stability control system is now made standard across the entire Fit lineup. The addition of VSA, a key safety feature, to all Fit models only makes the car a more compelling choice. While undeniably compact, the little Honda boasts interior flexibility that would make some SUVs jealous. "
So, we already knew that the GE models (2009 & 2010) had the remote keyless (but the dealership/honda just didn't give you remote keys.)
I've done a bit of research previously that told me basically, while adding the VSA from the 2009 or 2010 navi model _might_ be possible, it would be prohibitively expensive to buy all the parts necessary, so I have no hopes of adding this to my base. [Regulations require VSA in cars starting in 2012, so Honda I guess is getting a jump on things... which makes sense.. if I was in the market for a car this year, and knew about the VSA, and it wasn't on 2011 models, I would wait for 2012.] I'm assuming getting all the necessary parts would still be prohibitively expensive.
We all pretty much know how much adding the USB audio interface will cost. Maybe it will come down in price now, with it becoming standard.
But... cruise control... it was long my belief that adding the cruise control shouldn't be too difficult... considering the nature of the beast, and the ability to run the steering wheel controls.. but does anybody know what else one would have to get/do to add factory cruise to the 09/10 fit base?
thanks
These are the few things I really wanted on my base. (Surprised they don't mention map lights..) I wonder if someone who doesn't like VSA would trade me for my 09.
