Nice ride. The Fit does take a bit of getting used to in many ways. Parking is one of them. Simply a mater of getting used to it, that's all, take it slow. The front pillar blind spot is another you'll get used to as well.

I'm just realizing the rear defrost thing as well. It stays on the next time you start the car if you don't shut it off before you shut down the engine. Rather lame in my mind... as well as no heater in the side views and no low level warning in the washer fluid. Guess I have three peeves in an otherwise wonderful car.

In my Saturn, I also can't see the front of the car. When I got the car, I believe it was a feature known as "cab forward design". Eventually I got used to estimating the space I had available while parking. A minor trick is to use the daytime running lights and judge how close you are to the car in front of you by how bright your headlights are reflecting off of the car in front. While on the road, my old driving instructor said to leave enough room ahead to be able to see the back tires (of the car ahead of you) touching the ground.
