AEM F/IC and rsx-s Injectors Installed
#22
I think the big determing factor was the previous generations use of it. It is an extremely easy unit to use. Once you've got the fundamentals down I can't see why any reasonably competent human being would need to take this to a tuner. Plus as I was researching the unit there was such a wealth of information that I felt prepared to use it before I even got it in the mail. The o2 skew map makes closed loop tuning a cakewalk. No fighting fuel trims which is normally what makes piggybacks so hard to tune.

Thats actually one variable I haven't played with. Did you figure out the o2 wire I remember searching for half an hour (the installation guide is vague here) and then just saying screw it and soldering to one and it worked. I just keep the injector response at the original AEM setting. The key thing is to just pick one and stick with it. If you're off by a bit, it's no big deal. The injector response setting just determines how much of the pulse width to remove from the table calculations. So even if you get it way wrong, you'll just end up making bigger or smaller changes on your fuel table to compensate for the smaller or larger portion of the pulse width being modified.

My tunes with respents to the injector response times are pretty much the same as lyon's, you kinda do the injector response time sorta blindly and just leave it. The way I do mine, I create a base fuel maps with the proper injector sizes, then I play with my injector response time to get it to idle with the short term fuel trim and long term fuel trim to be as close to zero as possible and then I just leave it at that, it seems to work out pretty well
