I've used them. Good company.

HP vs added fuel economy with aftermarket?

After the ECU compensates for the additional add-ons what is your MPG return.

great question, I was thinking the same thing. If mileage improves might still be worth it - No?

I am down about 1mpg combined with an intake and a straight pipe instead of the rear muffler. Basically noise makers (and the intake doesn't make much noise as the drive by wire is tuned to open the throttle slowly to maximize mileage). Only reason I keep them on is that I like the way it sounds.

[QUOTE= Basically noise makers (and the intake doesn't make much noise as the drive by wire is tuned to open the throttle slowly to maximize mileage). It still gets loud as hell between 3000 and 4200 RPM on the highway.

That is probably because you like the sound so you are using your gas pedal more than you did before just to hear the sound.

This is very probable. On the highway, I go the speed limit and use the cruise. Heck, I use cruise even on regular roads that don't have too many stops (corner speed )

^I like this.

A set of stiffer springs and a wheel and tire package + track time with a instructor is money well spent over any performance gain that can be achieved from the fit.

And a lot of fun.

Agree that tires / suspension will give more bang for the buck, but I recommend sorting with a RSB first (can perform anytime and will have little/no effect on ride quality).

I have a hard time understand modding a car if it isn't going to see some type of track time. A track-day, auto X-ing, drag strip, time trial...

A track day can tell a lot about what is "worth" modding. The Subaru guys love huge adjustable sway bars, which ends up worse handling than stock.

Motor Reg makes track time easy and fun:

AND IT'S STILL TRUE.

I have never understood why people can't simply buy practical cars without feeling the need to make them the opposite.

If you want a fast car, then get a proper sports car, or at least something with potential. Or just keep spending all your tiny weekly paychecks on anodized garbage so that you can get exactly nowhere in life. Good choices.

I kick a lot of sports car ass with my grocery getter. I have dyno'd twice, a year apart, and maintained power. Right now 117whp. next dyno day I hope for 120.

there is now Ktuner capabilities for the GE8 Fit. I am looking into doing this for mine. Otherwise your bolt ons have minimal effect. Mine is faster then stock fits, but not as fast as it could be. The main thing I will be doing is removing the governor with the Ktuner.

I had Turbogixxer etune my Ktuner, and he observed that my car was experancing a lot of false knock due to the modifications I had done to the car (header, intake). He was able to compensate for it in the Knock limit and Knock retard maps. So now the car will not retard the timing for the false knocks. This made a huge difference in power. So if you do not have a tuning solution, some modifications that produce false knock could really hurt performance by exceeding the knock limit and causing the car to reduce timing.
