New Owner - Convert

Ok well I vowed never to buy another Honda again after the insulting Insight and CRZ were released. But the Fit is just such a cool car for the price and the weight and storage options are quite nice.

So, my wife has started to hate her 06 Accord and despite it being quick for having a 6 speed manual, its just a heavy, large car with pretty poor storage. And the fuel economy blows.

So picked up a 2010 Fit Sport. Don't know why it was so hard to find but wound up looking at 12 dealers before I found one.

My modding days were done a long time ago with my old Civic, but this car is so cheap in some ways there are definitely some things I had to do.

So I added:

OEM Armrest
Mugen Shifter Kit
Blox Knob
Shift Boot
HomeLink Conversion Map Lights
All Season Floormats
Door Step Trim
Trunk Mat
Progress Springs
Alignment set to 1/8th " Toe Out Front for Autox
Front Camber set to -1 Degree
Blizzak WS-60 for winter

I would be interested in some type of supercharging down the road.
But not really a priority. What are people on here doing for brake improvements? Will a set of good pads and rotors drop the 60-0 distance or are you stuck swapping to larger brakes?

I know you're not the first to add the center console but you'll be the first I ask! Was it hard to do and is it an OEM or aftermarket piece?

Nice and welcome! Has the Mugen quick shifter been installed in those pics?

How do you like those springs? The drop is perfect! Not raked like the Swifts, which are another "mild" lowering option. Any handling/subjective remarks welcomed!

Its the OEM, and really I find it almost scary that the center console was only secured by two plastic screws and one screw in the back of the console near the seat.

To install it was really easy. You just have to make sure you have metric drill bits, sockets and screw drivers. If I was not installing the shift boot and short shifter would have taken maybe 20 minutes tops.

Yes it was, and let me tell you that the only thing in my opinion it does is increase shifting effort, gives it a slightly heavier feel, the shift knob also effects that. In terms of actual shift throw distance, its minimal.
So, is it worth $180? I dont think so. I think the heavier knob was good enough.

Well, honestly the car handles very well in stock form. These springs definitely, firmed up the ride and reduced some body roll. The alignment also helped. Is it a huge difference, no. Was it worth spending almost $500 on labor and parts? No, but its definitely a solid improvement. And the reduction in wheel gap is very nice. Subtle and does not make anyone thing the car is lowered which I like.

The tires are the weak link, once I have summer tires on when the weather improves I would be able to make a better judgment.

I am trying to chase down some suspension noise after the lowering, dont know if it is the front sway bar or bumpstops making noise.

Thanks for the nice comments.
