12.5 mm (1/2") WHEEL SPACERS

Has anyone installed Wheel Spacers in the Rear? I want to give it a wider looking stance from the back and am wondering if I can install 12.5 mm (1/2") WHEEL SPACERS without having to get longer get longer studs/bolts.

Anyone know what the spacer max size can be?

Thanks!

ah boo...so what is the max size spacer I can install without changing studs?

Or is it a hassle and expensive to swap out for longer studs?

I've never done this. Special tool required that I have to take to a tire shop for?

I'm just getting wider tires... 205-50-16's.
I thought about spacers in the past but too much work and too much $$$.
I need new tires so I'm killing two birds with one stone.

@ Committobefit08: well you're lucky. I only have 1000 miles on it so far. Wanted to avoid getting new tires. Are you getting those tires to put on the stock wheel?

Alex,

you do not need to swap out the studs. a company has created spacers that come with there own pressed studs. You need to check if the GE8 wheel has room for them though.

Check these out. FIT 06+

Read up on them. Measure, check the back of the stock wheels. Purchase and install.

I am running 15mm in the back of my fit. check out my picture thread to see what they look like.

Something like this might work but you may need a hub centric ring or other stuff. wheel spacer - Seremban - Car Parts

Yes... Yokahama's Avid Envigor's will go on a 5.5"-7.5" wide rim.
Stock Dunlops suck... I only got 20K out of them. I am a bit hard on tires but never had an issue with other tires on prior cars only lasting 20K miles. Even wearing just tread life sucks.

yah, before pushing out your skinny factory tires to the fender making your car look like a frikken crab from the rear, get wider wheels and tires.

the max you can use spacers without changing studs on a 1.50 thread nut is probably 3mm. and you're at your own risk.

I pushed out my rear HFP wheels 15mm. They aren't all the way flush with the fender and from the rear you can't tell much difference from stock but from the side you can tell I was aiming to achieve a more flush look.

The spacers I used were a little expensive but they come with everything needed. HUB centric ring, bolts, spacers with pressed studs. The job took me 15 minutes if you don't like the ending look then remove them.

You need bolt-on spacer for that.

I'm on 17x7 wheels and will be test fitting 5mm and 8mm slip-on spacers for the rears come Friday or Saturday. Looking at the studs with wheel on... it looks like a 5mm can fit without issues and 8mm is pushing it too far. I could be wrong... I'll let you know.

Since the least safe offset is 45 mm and stock wheels are 53 mm the thickest spacers you can use are 8mm or 3/8"; however, the studs will handle 5 mm (0.2") thick plates or 6 mm (1/4") if you're lucky.
Forget 1/2" without changing studs. Andother problems.

just having the "project kics" name on them bumped the price up considerably
