All-Season or Carpet Floor Mats?

I live in San Jose so all we get is the occasional rain. But I probably will be taking the car to Santa Cruz every so often so there will probably be a little sand involved. Which one should I go for? I don't feel like paying $160+ for Weathertechs because I won't be in extreme environments like snow and slush.

Then get the carpet?

Why get carpet if you're going to subject it to rain and sand? Rubber would make sense.

Plus, if the Fit's carpet mats are anything like the recent carpet mats included in my 08 Accord and 05 RSX, you'll find holes where your heels rub after about 25,000 miles. More evidence of cost cutting.

IMO the OEM floormats are quite disappointing. Very thin and not very plush at all. I commented about the poor quality floormats to the salesman that sold me the mats a few weeks I bought the mats and he agreed that the Fit mats are quite bad. He recommended Lloyds mats (which they were selling) but I didnt feel like buying another set of mats. If I had to do it all over again I would either get the Lloyd's mats or OEM rubber mats.

yo! check this out. seems like they're doing their sale again for oem all season mats. ordered mine last week and it's a hell of a deal!

HONDA FIT ALLSEASON MATS - eBay (item 260694864475 end time Nov-25-10 07:30:33 PST)

living in the bay area means access to a lot of sand, water, snow, mud, dirt, etc. so all season mats make better sense. easier to clean, etc. good luck

Or get rubber floormats from Target. Use the advanced customized fitting tool from office supplies known as "scissors." The rubber floormats they sell are getting far nicer than they used to be. The ones I got are fairly heavy, and by cutting them so they fit snugly around the dead-pedal, they don't slide at all, without having to use hooks attached through the carpet.

You can't see much of them in this pic, but I've had them in there for about 6 mos with no sliding, plus they catch sand (I'm in Monterey - LOTS of sand to get in the car here!)

the OEM all seasons are awesome
i wouldn't pay over $100 for them, but for $81.70 and free shipping, thats an awesome deal.

plus they have the floor anchors on the drivers side, and the honda oem all season mats for the 2nd row are awesome.

All-season mats

I went with all-season mats. We have all 4 seasons here in Michigan so it saves money on buying both. I also wear work boots to work so that took wear and tear on the carpet mats. I thought just get the all-season mats. They would last longer.

I got the OEM all weather mats, too. I have mats that are part carpet/part rubber in my Subaru. The carpet part wore through & looked nasty after a year or so--the rubber can be cleaned and made to look almost new. Weathertech mats are nice for the front, but the backs aren't as nice as the oem all-weather.

I had my dealer throw in the all-seasons for free. They're great, but I wouldn't pay more than $75 for them personally.

i prefer the look of carpet mats but have factory all season mats on both my Fit's because they are dd's and we have salt here in the snow season.

even with the rubber mat my left heel went through it in 2yrs. i just bought a new set from collegehillshonda.com

as far as carpet mats my favorite is berber mats. very durable and looks great.

I have goodyear all season mats from target and they fit pretty well for a whopping 15 bucks. I keep the OEM carpet mats hiding underneath
