I'm in a bit of a pickle (2010 or 2011 Fit?)

That makes it significantly better than the sport ipod system using the isb. I haven't yet tried my ipod using the aux connector in the front. Hope it gives more flexibility than using the isb interface.

The major downside even with the navi system is that scrolling down multiple pages can be very slow. Hitting page down more than two or three times means a pause while the head unit gets more data from the ipod. So its not a perfect system by any means.

Test drive both, push them to their limits and then decide if you really need the VSA.
It's no secret I don't care for VSA and think too many people use it as a crutch which ends up getting them into trouble. However if you're aware of what it can and can not do, it's a good tool. Just remember, it can not replace driver skill.
Now for me, I drive some of the twistiest roads in the state on a daily basis, and I'm not a slow driver. The Fit is one of the most road hugging cars I've ever driven, this includes my old 318i. I've got the skinny stock 15" wheels and tires.. can't wait to see what it'll do with some 205's
