SO glad Honda went away from using timing belts. An interference engine with a timing belt is a recipe for a really, REALLY expensive repair.

One of the reasons I avoided Hondas of the past.

many manufacturers are moving back to timingchains as engineering tolerances have greately improved and the old drawbacks of chains over belts are minimized.

If you remove the oil cap you can see the chain. I am glad they dont use the belt anymore.

all new honda 4-cyl engines run on chains now. the 6-cyls are the only ones left with belts.

I hope that will change soon, put maybe it wont because of chain noise with the v6 and the knock sensors wont work right.

So if they use chains now, how often do you need to get them serviced?

Why the need to dig up an almost 10 year old thread, to respond to someone that hasn't been on the forum for some 2 years...?
