2011 Fit release date
#2
I just called a dealer this a.m. He said he saw some in production but with no date on them. He didn't know much but estimated it as a 'December car.'
My car was totaled and I want to get a Fit, am trying to hang in there for the 2011's to get the stability control (I think Honda calls it VSA.) Didn't know it would be such a long wait, am thinking of just getting the regular 2010 Sport. But I'd really like the extra safety, so I'll probably wait. Also that Sport is supposed to have floor mats and arm rest standard.

I've had a hard time finding a '10 with Navi/stability, maybe it's too late in the year. The dealership here checked TX, OK & LA and someone I talked to in my hometown in Kansas found one that would have to be delivered, he didn't say what state it was in.

Hi dennisa!
After calling and meeting a number of dealers - according to the dealers here in the Bay Area, they will be arriving in December (manufacture date starts November; takes a month from factory to dealerships).
I had a similar situation this weekend with my new purchase. I was originally waiting for the 11 Sport w/ standard VSA (navi isn't really THAT important to me). Currently, the 10 Sport VSA/Navi is around 19k sticker. It took a while before I got the dealers to pull up numbers for the 11 (at first they said that they "don't have access" to those prices") and it looks like the 11 Sport (w/ standard VSA) is 21k sticker, more or less.
So....19k Sport with VSA+Navi vs. 21k 11 Sport VSA only. Psychologically, 11 would be the better bet bc it's simply a newer model. Pricewise, 19k is a win over 21k.....plus, financing is WAY BETTER for the 10 (currently at %0.9 special if you qualify, especially since they want to make room for the 11 model) and 11 will be your standard rate (%5 or so, no deals since it is a brand new model year). Another win is that by getting the 10, you'll be getting everything plus a Navi as a "bonus" over the 11 Sport w/ VSA only.
So after all of that, I drove off with my new 10 Sport + Navi. The VSA is good since I need a car that can handle the rainy weather + windy roads + my drives to Tahoe for the upcoming snow season. Since VSA is required by law to be standard on all vehicles by 2012, I went ahead and got a head start for a cheaper price. I hope that helps!

I would buy the 2010 model and take the 0.9 APR. The 2011 will have a 3 - 5% mark up compare to 2010. The car is exactly the same except you get floor mat and traction control standard. Why wait?

I bought a TW '10 Fit Sport AT last Thursday at 0.9%. My credit score is not excellent(645). If I waited for an '11, it would have been around MSRP price, and at the rate I most likely qualified for (4.9%-9.9%). I figured I saved between ($4,000-$9000 depending on APR) over five years. I bought weathertech mats. center console is $175 at Bernardi. I've never had a car with VSA, maybe when the new Fits come out in 2012-2014... I'll get another Fit with it standard.
