CRZ test in November Car&Driver
Finally, a full real test of the CRZ 6 speed manual.
Notes:
1. Their CRZ is slower than the Fit both 0-60 and 0-1/4SS (9.6 vs 8.6 and 17.2 vs 16.7)
2. Their CRZ had better top speed, 122 to 110 mph thanks to aero handicapped Fit.
Big Note: C&D charged their CRZ IMA battery to full before each run, (see test notes) so acceleration numbers are the best that could be expected. Wait'll CR runs those tests.
3. Perhaps due to better tires as well as lower cg, road holding on the CRZ bettered the Fit but then our Fit gets .88g on Direzzas.
4. Their CRZ got 36 mpg compared to Fit 33 mpg.
I'd like to see a dyno run where the max torque is measured at what rpm. I guess that maximum torque of 122 lbft occurs at about 3500-4000 rpm and the electric motor suppiies about 20 lbft. But bless 'em they did have 4 wheel disc brakes.
I hope Honda is working on a CRZ Si with a 2 liter engine. Bet that would take care of that juddering in 6th at 40 mph. And make us CRX lovers happy and with our spending make Honda happy too.

It test drove one when I went to buy my Fit; my main concerns where that it was way to small for my frame, and the fact that it was two small. IMO if you're going to buy a two seater why buy and underpowered CRZ?

CRZ = joke
If they made a hybrid CRZ pushing 140-150hp that did at least 0-60 in 7sec & 1/4 mile in 15-15.5 sec. and still got 36-37 mpg avg.. then they would have a "Sport Hybrid" and probably double the current sales at least.
Currently all they have is an overpriced 2 door Fit.
Edit...btw OP I posted this originally on 9-28-10. Post #140.

We already had a CRZ thread. I Don't think we need more.

Wouldn't make must sense to me, especially when you aren't going to see huge HP gains with a bolt on kit. Also, why pay an extra $3-5k for power gains that you can get from purchasing a vehicle with more HP for less money?

Fit:
0-60 - 8.3 secs
1/4 m - 16.5 @83
Top speed - 115
Before any tests on the CR-Z were published, driving the 6MT CR-Z, I felt the Fit was quicker, had better torque response and handles better. Those who nay-sayed me can send their apologies, lol.

^lol, at first glance i thought it was a nissan cube
bisimoto is working on a few parts for the crz. they're bound to inject excitement into the L15a given what they were able to accomplish with d-series. i can't wait to see what they come up with.

The CR-Z is a unique car. If you don't know the definition of that word, look it up. Actually, people should look it up, since it's horribly misused.
As such, I think it is a cool. Performance numbers don't really mean much to me though.

You want Fast Or CHEAP? and 5K is like a dual turbo setup. F.I. is hp on tap with good gas mileage to boot

According to C&D the 6 spd is fitted to the early Fit engine used in the CRZ and not the ones that come here in Fits. There's always an adapter plate. But why? The ratios don't look particularly inviting to the Fit engine.

Thats why you're unique.
