Question Seats - Lateral Support

There was a recent Car and Driver article on the Fit vs. Mazda 2 vs. Ford Fiesta. The reviewer complained that the 2010 Fit seats had too much lateral support. I was surprised because, when I sat in the 2010 Fit, it seemed to have less lateral support than my 2007 Fit. Maybe it's because I'm a skinny guy, that the GD Fit seats seems to have more lateral support than the GE. Do any of you notice this as well?

Anyways, I still think that both Fits seats don't have enough lateral support. Honda should put Recaro type racing seats in there!

a reviewer complained that there is TOO MUCH lateral support in the fit? i have an '09 and i can't imagine the seats being too different in the '10 but... there is no way that there is TOO MUCH lateral suport in the seats. i actually think i had more support in my '01 mazda tribute

I personally would want more...but I think something like seats ends up being a preference issue.

The back is fine, but it's a bit too aggressive in the bottom... it tends to put a lot of pressure on your right leg unless you have your legs straight out (I.e. not splayed), and you need a lower seat with more forward space to do the "straight out" position unless you have short legs.

The GE seats are wide and firm, so if you aren't enough big to fill the seat, you won't "reach" the lateral support. One of the many lack of engeneering of the fit seats.
The lateral support should be "gradual imo", or better (but expensive), adjustable. I have this on my mr2, it's cool for lapping, I can have the seat tight.

I also disagree that lateral support is lacking in the GE. Pulling some impressive lateral g's (thanks to the factory Dunlops), along with the grippy cloth, lateral support is good.

I sat in a Mazda RX-3 R3 with the Recaro seats and I could barely fit due to the ridiculous lateral contouring.

If anything, the lateral bumps on the seat bottom push against my left hamstring when I press the clutch.
