Just Got One!!!!...I have questions

Hey guys, Just got a 2010 Fit sport, Blue Sensation. Over time I would like to ( more or less) trick it out. New rims, Tint windows, interior, engine(performance) and exterior. I would like to know what order I should prioritize things and or what else should I do and what I shouldn't. Also o the rims, what a ood size of rim and tire, i wuld like bigger thean stock but dont want to raise the car at all if I can....Thanks alot.

I am also a new owner of a 2010 BSP and I will tell you what i have done just in the first month.

First off I would say definitely get tints done like ASAP. it makes it look so much better. I have 35%'s and i am very content plus im likely not to get ticketed with 35's rather than if i had 20's but check ur local laws.

Def get some aftermarkets. Personally im not a follower so TE37's were def not on my list of rims so i went unique and got all white 17's with 205/40/17's
If your planning on lowering this is the size to go with, not 45 because there are alot of people that lower with 45's and rubbbbbbb.

for rims i used wheelfire.com. great deals and free everything.

Tints i went to a local place called Precision Tints 631-462-tint in commack, ny (lol thats my plug for the dude, really great guy and did an awesome job)

Good luck on everything! and congrats

205/40/17
205 tread width in mm's
40 aspect ratio of sidewall height to tread width, as in 40%
17 wheel diameter in inches

To add to that...

[(205 mm x 40%) x2 ] + 17 inches = calculated overall diameter (actual will vary slightly)

Obviously, you'll have to convert either the 205 or 17 to the other's measurement type.

Just FYI: Sport (USDM) is 185/55/16 gives just about 24" in diameter (slightly more, actually... 24.011811" etc or 609.9 mm).

So a 205/40/17 is going to be smaller (little less than 23.5"). It will throw your speedo and odo off ever so slightly. 205/45/17 is slightly more than 24.25". 215/40/17 is 23.77"***. A 195/45/17 comes pretty close (23.94"). A 225/40/17 comes closer at 24.087" but is pretty wide... not sure if you can get away with using a 225 mm wide tire (*** or even the 215 mm).

If you choose to stick with the 16" rim, you can go with 205/50/16 and get a slightly better match (24.07").

Forget power mods, not too many for the GE Fit I'm afraid.

Better wheels, tires and suspension ought to do the trick already. Tint will also help a lot on hot days. Good luck!

Go to Tire Rack or Edmund's website. They have good info on tire sizes and upgrade considerations. Also keep in mind tire weight and/or rim weight when upgrading. Lighter is better or at least same as OEM. Heavier defeats the purpose of upgrading. It will only load your engine even more unless you're just going for looks.

Seeing how you're in San Diego, be aware of the fact that you can still get ticketed for tinting your front side windows, so be prepared to deal with that possibility. It's up to you, but personally, I don't think blue is one of those colors that looks significantly better with tinted windows (which is the case for a white or grey car), so you can still be fine with regular windows.
