do you think the passenger seats have the hardware mount for a flip-down armrest such that if we can source the armrest (from RHD cars ie JDM/UK) we can just cut the cloth seat and screw it on?

#1 complaint of passenger is there there are no armrest

 

You could just install the center console.

 

honda literature says center console is strictly for AT cars (hence thread title). not sure if it gets in the way of the shifter operation , or if the center tunneling is different, etc, or something

 

That's just a liability thing they put.

There's nothing physically stopping you. I put the center console in my M/T. And I LIKE IT.

Centre Console was one of the first things I did for our GE Fit and no complaints. Absolute bollocks they don't even give the driver a armrest, and if liability or shifting was an issue they should have at least given the passenger one. The armrest isn't very wide at 12cm but serves its purpose and gives you a place to put your wallet but sacrifices 2 of the cupholders to do it. I purchased my console through a mate with a discount at Honda and installed it in about 30 minutes following the College Hills Honda #154 video.
