Clear Coat Chip
Hi there,
Just about to pass 1500 miles in my new Fit. I'm loving it. I drive 100% heavy city traffic, and unfortunately through a lot of work zones. I just washed my car for the first time today and I noticed on the hood there are a few small white chips in what appears to be the clear coat paint. There's also a small area--maybe the size of a pencil eraser--where it looks like the clear coat was knocked off. They're all irregular shapes and sizes, which makes me think they're just nicks from small rocks I hit as I go through the road construction every day.
How concerned should I be about this? Should I be attempting to repair the clear coat? If so, how do I go about doing that? This is my first new car and I want to take care of it--just not sure what the right thing to do is.
I'm grateful for any assistance you all can provide.
Thank you!
