Angry 2009 Sport Rear hatch interior hand grip for closing pulled out

Anyone had their interior hand grip for closing the hatch pull out?

We have had a couple of hot days here lately, and late last week, when I went to close my hatch after the car had sat in the sun all day (no shade in the big parking lot), the plastic handle pulled out of the interior.

I have a little over 18k on the car, and it is due for service most likely this winter (40% left on the maint. minder). I tried snapping it back in after it happened, but it must not have locked securely, and came out in my hand again yesterday.

Yea once that hatch interior piece comes off it's clips, it doesn't seem to want to stay on as securely as it's supposed to. I actually took mine off on purpose to do the rear vertical wiper mod and even tho I got the clips all snapped in, the hatch panel still comes off when pulling on the inside handle to shut the hatch. I got a routine service appointment next week so I may see if Honda can snap it in more securely for me.

i wish they had the placement more towards the edge, the grip angle is kinda akward.
