launch control or...

launch control or...
..safety precaution?
So I was just sittin at a really long stop light on my way home from work. Midnight, no cars around. I started revving it up to like 3-3.5k because I like hearing the throttle click open with my intake. After 10-15 times I hold the throttle at 50% and when it revs it hits 4500rpm and just bounces off. I go WOT for about 4 seconds and it keeps just bouncing between 4-5k.
Automatic fuel cutout since the car knows I'm at a standstill?
Or is it launch control for high-power drag racing?!?!
...I'm guessing the first.
Thoughts though please

Yeah it's more of not letting the engine rev when at a standstill. My old 5R Teggy had one right at about 5400 if I remember correctly and it stayed engaged till the car was moving at least 10km/h and then with K-Pro I set it up a bit differently and used it as a launch control when doing gymkhana.
Haven't even attempted with the Fit to check since owning.
