Custom side mirrors...

I refuse to pay 900 bucks for spoon mirrors. So I made my own. These are still a little rough around the edges but coming along nicely...

I thought TCS F1 mirrors used a universal mount... I really don't see them releasing a Fit "specific" model. I've looked at those quite a bit, but they look a little too "ricey" on daily drivers IMHO.

Post a pic of your Integra...

Nicely done. Not sure I'd care to lose the visibility in my commuter, but seeing as your going for weight loss.. good stuff!

Graci'...

I never trust my side mirrors when I'm switching lanes anyways...so not a big loss there.

I'd like to figure out a way to make a mold for a CF or fiberglass shell and have a product available for the Fit community. The Spoon mirrors are the biggest rip off ever, but I really like the OEM aero look...

So far I only have one made, the hard part will be getting the other side to be an exact copy. The other issue is how to retain adjustability. Lots of details still to work out.

Pretty cool. Weight savings is good but reducing drag is just as useful.

LOL, guilty!

The next step will be to make a mold for carbon fiber.

Yeah man this is looking pretty sweet. Serious ingenuity. And i bet that you're having fun making them, too. Cool project. Now let's see those insight brakes! i kid... (sort of)

I'll be honest I'm not a big fan of the look and you do lose the power option if your car came with power mirrors but they are extremely light and very aerodynamic.

EDIT: Here's the exact mirrors I have.

Small speed bump...

Both mirrors are 99% done at this point. Just need a final coat of gloss black paint. Problem that I have now is that I can't figure out how to take apart the stock side mirror. Anyone know how to remove this piece?

I can't get to the wiring without removing this plastic cap. I don't see any "notches" to insert a flat head screw driver and there is no "give" to suggest the location of tabs. Any body got any suggestions? I was hoping to snap some photos of these on the car today or tomorrow. Thanks in advance.

If its anything like most other oem Honda mirrors its screwed to the front plastic piece. You'll have to adjust the mirror to its extremes to see the screws.
