Custom side mirrors...
#22
Sorry, I had my bachelor party Saturday night and was in a coma recovering all Sunday
I will try to give it a go this afternoon. I noticed the posts that mount the mirrors (i.e. the swivel) are a little taller than my custom mirrors will allow (i'll post pics to show what I'm talking about), so it will take some modification of these as well...so close to done!

LOL...they actually look a little bigger in person. Top-to-bottom they are really thin, but the front-to-back dimensions balance them out and make them not look so puny...
If the demand is there, I may move these towards production. Installing these will require you to cut the wire to the mirror motor...I absolutely could not find the wire inside the door and there is no plug in the mirror to avoid cutting the wire. The wires could always be reconnected at a later time.
A few small technical details remain - cost of cutting the glass, cheap/effective way to mount the glass, and trying to find an off-the-shelf bracket to mount these to the door pillar...I spent 3 hours last night making a custom bracket just to mount the right mirror.
THanks man!
I'll see about the curved glass...but this may prove to be difficult. I'll do some calling around today.
I may be wrong, but the lower mount for the Spoon mirrors looks like they will only work with the GD. Compare the following mounting positions below...

Sorry for the big pic, but this is off of Spoon's site.
The one thing I like about the Spoon, for me anyways, they retain the electronic folding and movement of the mirror. I do really like what you have come up with though and get the remaining little details squared away. One thing for sure...ORIGINALITY!!!

Ohhhh believe me, I'm there with you as a McBallernonson. The stockers work just fine for me right now. If, you are able to get what you turned into a carbon version, I might just give up the heated, folding and blue stock mirrors.
Ohhh, are you just getting straight mirrors cut or at least a blue lense to cut down on glare.

If you decide to start making some of these to sell, put me at the top of the list. I'd definitely be interested in a carbon fiber set. Very impressive to me that you can put something like this together. Looks great.
