did you have to roll because of the camber bolts?

everyone says +45 and 205/50 is the GOLDEN TICKET if you will, 2mm difference made you rub that crazy?

does it really boil down to the tire size and not the offset? im thinking this is a trend

Chances are probably that it is a combination.

I haven't seen anyone rub with +45 and 205/50's on any tire.
But maybe with any lower you are risking it depending on tire brand/style because I know there are differences even with the same size but diff brands/styles.

As a side note also.

I never trimmed my bump stops either. I never have on any of my cars prior either. This might be a difference maker.

Yes. The tire size determines the upper and lower and sideways position of the thing turning inside your fender and the offset tells you just how far the wheel, or centerline of the tire, is positioned in the fenderwell.
The 45 mm offset means the wheel is pushed out 9 to 10 mm. The width of the tire and its diameter then lets you know it it fits in the fenderwell.

If nothing else, stick a half-inch (13 mm)thick piece of foam insulation on your stock tires at the outside sidewall edge ot the tread and roll the car, jumping up and down on the doorsill. If you knock the foam off you know you'll get rubbing if you go that far.with moving the wheel out 13 mm (offset 42-43 mm)even with stock tires. Only smaller diameter and less wide tires may help.

This is why you are not rubbing, I did not cut mine when i first had Tanabe springs. The car looked high in the front to me so i took the wheel off and loaded the suspension while looking at the bumpstop. The damper was compressing the stop before the spring could even completely settle.

Basically what I am saying is your bumpstops are holding the car up right now.

No, I only have camber bolts in the front, rear camber is static on these cars.

I had to roll the rears because it was rubbing so bad I had white streaks on my tires from paint.

And yes, anything > +45 with a 205/50 IMO is going to rub.

My car actually sits alot lower in the front. And it still has suspension travel. I drive an average of 75 miles a day so Id notice rubbing and any suspension dampening and rebound issues. The car rides nice and smooth. Its honestly just alil bouncy and high in the rear. Might just swap out the rear springs for a set of tanabes for now till I buy coil overs.

so the springs did not produce the full drop because the bumpstops were not trimmed?

why is everyone so afraid of rubbing? rub till it stops, roll/pull your fenders, or stay away from low offsets.

tirerack.com will give you the appropriate wheel/tire size for your gd/ge sooooo....... no more "help! will i rub!?!" threads, mmk? lol

I dont think that leaving the bump stops intact hurt the amount of drop at all. From the pics you can tell that the front is tucked tight in the wheel well.
