2010 Honda Fit Seat issue
I just want to get a feel for anyone who has a 2010 Honda Fit and has noticed a popping sound from either the passenger or drivers seat. My car is currently at the dealer and I was told that's how the seats are. They checked other Fits on the lot and they do the samething. Basically when sitting down, or going around turns, I hear a pop coming from the passenger seat almost like the seat could come off.
I searched and found a few seat issues posted and tried the solutions all of which my dealer stated they checked. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

yeah I'm going to have to do that on my 2010 Fit Sport, but I keep forgetting my socket wrench at work. It really sucks when you're driving home and feel that darn pop in the seat and realise that you forgot the tool to fix it.
Which reminds me I need to grab my socket wrench set from the office right now so that doesn't happen again.

It's ridiculous and very disapointing of Honda and Honda dealerships. My 2010 has a little "looseness" in the seat, and I took it to the dealership thinking they would at least check the bolts and I got the same statement. "They checked it with others on the lot and they all do it"...ridiculous.
IMO that is no answer. Just because they are all being built with a flaw, doesn't mean it's not a flaw. I was tired and in a hurry but I don't think that is an acceptable answer.
With research on this site, I'm assuming it is just the bolts that need to be tightened down BUT Honda should admit this and dealerships should fix it. If I remove the plastic covers and I crack one? I'm liable. Plus it's a new car, I think Honda should just fix it.
There is enough feedback that I think it is a widespread problem. I love my Honda Fit, but this whole, "It's just the way they all are" answer is ridiculous. If they all had an engine that exploded or some other problem would that mean it shouldn't be fixed? This issue has been the first "problem" and interaction with Honda Dealership service and unfortunately the support from the dealership was disappointingly unsupportive.

Ford service folks were notorious for always saying "That's the way they build them." Certainly would have hoped that by now that excuse would have run out, and certainly that Honda wouldn't be using it.
BTW they didn't build mine that way.

fitchet--
You most likely won't pop or crack one of the covers--don't be so worried about that. I did mine in the middle of the night almost blind and 2 of my bolts were loose.
It must have been that one guy that forgot his depression meds that morning or something, LOL

Just casually and for the record, I'm not saying everyone has a problem with their Honda Fit seats. But there have been other threads. Loose bolts do seem to be an issue.
You either have the problem or you don't. Honda saying "they all do" and using that as a excuse to not do anything is still bs.

Some one at the factory is responsible for tightening those bolts. When I first came on this forum I was surprised to see seat bolt issues. Seems to me someone in Japan is not doing their job. Honda should take note and get that guy a new wrench.

Just received my new fit. It has the same rocking issue. Since I have to pick up some accessory parts at the dealer tomorrow, I'll see if I can get them to tighten them.
If not, what's the proper leverage point to pry on the inside front plastic cover? The service manual is less than useful on this point.

WOW the seats loosened after being tightened? That's peculiar. Possibly something in how they seat to the floor. It's the rail bolts I'm figuring, right?

On a completely different subject...I'm new to the forum and a new 2010 Fit owner. And since I haven't figured out how to "start" a new thread I thought I'd add to this one. Does anyone know if you can "swap" out the Fit driver seat for another model's driver seat, say like a 2010 Civic or similar?
