TopSpeed

Ok I know the GD section has a top speed thread, but i cant find one for the GE. So either post a link, leave a comment.

I got the Fit to 90 in 4th, and went right to 100 in 5th. I had to stop because i ran out of room between taffic on the interstate. But i felt it deffinately had some more(although it would have taken forever). Totally stock other than a Tanabe axle-back. I also have the nitrogen filled Dunlops. Yes..I understand its not a top speed demon, but I was just curious. What about everyone else?

Fastest that I have gotten to was an indicated 114 but I ran out of room so I had to slow down, I think it had a little more, not much though. Also, there may be a difference between manual and auto, mine is a manual, and is a completely stock Sport.

Yes, i do believe the autos have a longer final gear. Explains some of the better fuel economy?

Around 118 mph so far according to the speedmeter with my Jazz 1.4

Edit:
Tryed to go 124 mph today (high way, clear road!!) ... at 119 mph around 500 rpms left to red line but the car didn't accelerate any more. So this is it. The car became also unstable a bit.

Interesting, considering the car is electronically limited a good 10 mph below your quoted speed. Whatever...

180kph (112mph) is what S speed rated tires are supposed to be good for. That is what the Base comes with in the US. The Sport comes with H speed rated tires (130mph).

Well here in Japan all cars are artificially speed limited to 180km/h or 140km/h if they are kei cars.

106 according to my GPS. I find that the speedo is very accurate, especially compared to other cars. It is only about 1 or 2 off at the speed.

Well won't break it much, but mine was not slowly accelerating at that speed, slow compared to my old DC5R Integra and AP2 Snisen, but it definitely would hit 200km/h (124mph), which is still not fast really.
