Zalthras it actually does look good
Do these have to be attached to the dash in any way? I've heard people say you have to use double sided tape or velcro that affixes to the dash? Just wondering if this is true.

To eliminate glare in the windshield from the sun and sky's reflection bouncing off of the dash. do you see the pictures?
I did. The instructions that come with it say that it's not required, but the cover moves around too much and doesn't really conform to the shape of the dashboard if you don't. I used a couple of strips of velcro (hook side).

Sorry to say I just can't get there.
Serves a purpose, I suppose, but at the cost of destroying the
appearance of a beautiful cabin design - not for me.
Can't imagine having that thing sliding around
and then having to clean it.

Prima Nero works better than Aerospace 303 as it's a more matte finish. the manufacturer baselined the 303 but made it more matte.
i use Nero 50/50 with water more like a QD sometimes. also Griot's SpeedShine (it's a quick detailer) works great to clean interiors and leaves behind a matte finish.
that carpeting is imho ugly, smelly, and a bad idea.

Like I said before, I was skeptical too until I tried it. So I wouldn't go knocking it before you've tried it too. It is weird looking though, so probably not everyone's cup of tea.
Some corrections however:
It doesn't move at all. I haven't cleaned the one in the Fit since I put it on a year ago. But you just vacuum it like you would your seats.
If you never drive in sunny weather, glare is not really a problem. My dash has never been cleaned or wiped with any product since we drove off the dealer lot @ 21 odo. miles. But, then 2 weeks after we bought the car, I was sick of the glare after a road trip down to San Fran, so I bought the dash cover, problem solved =).

Do any of these products seem to cut down on the heat produced by the enormous dash? My poor AC can barely keep up under a full TX sun, and if I lean forward I feel I've entered an entirely different climate due to the heat rolling off that wide expanse of black plastic.
As far as glare, I wonder if it would be practical to cut a sheet of polarized film to cover the dash - glare is typically horizontally polarized, which is why polarized glasses are vertically polarized, so it would seem that if sunglasses aren't always possible (eg. prescription non-polarized), that the film (some of which are nearly transparent) would cut the glare at the source. Anybody work as or know a tinter? I would think that anyone that is good at cutting sheets of tint would be able to "tint" the dashboard with such a film.
