09 m/t mileage vs 10 a/t
#21
Koala...The site is not just for items with deep social meaning, but also for general information and comments. 2mpg more on a new car with an a/t, than was gotten on a m/t with a broken in engine, is surprising. Maybe not important to you, but IMO, worthy of notation.

I have to point out that at 12,000 miles per year, at $3 per gallon, you're discussing a difference between 333 and 316 gallons/year... 17 gallons. $51/year. 4.25/month. Gotta keep some perspective. The difference in one-two mpg above 30 mpg is far less significant than in the 13-18 mpg suv range.

Thanks for the thread citabria7. It's interesting...I'm interested to see if the higher mpg #'s continue. I just took a 200 mile road trip in my 09 A/T with temperatures at 85 degrees. Air conditioning was full blast the whole time and I was cruising 75mph. I avg 40 mpg per the meter. When I calculated it manually I figured 38 mpg. Not too shabby.

I was just surprised that it even matched the m/t, based on my past experience. If it continues, will be determined in the months to come. (Especially when it hits 115 degrees here. it is supposed to hit 109 on Sunday. Fulltime A/C, day and night then)
