I finally pushed my GE8 (AT) to the absolute limit :p

Going over to Suzuka for the I Heart Honda day, I was playing with some other Hondas on the Isewangan at about 3 in the morning and wished the artificial speed limiter didn't exist as it held the car to only 180km/h (112mph). The FD2R, DC2R and AP1 were content with not going over that speed though. I just would of liked to see what its max was. Still though, going max speed straight doesn't do as much for me as hitting winding road action with lower speeds.

Hey man ur car is not slow. At least u take it up to that speed. I see so many Z06 owners doing 10 mph below speed limits here in Orlando...

Good to know speedmeter is wrong...according the speedmeter my max was around 190 km/h but it would go faster.
Guys, what are penalties for speeding over there.
We have speed limit on a highway 80 mph (130 km/h).
If you are speeding for more than 30 mph (50 km/h) the penalty is at least $350 which is actually very little.
If you are speeding for more than 19 mph in an urban area, speed limit is 31 mph, the penalty is at least $1200.
In each case you loose your driving licence for some time.
For dangerous driving (overspeed for more than one time and if you cause dangerous situation ... even if there is no consequences and damage you can go to prison for up to 3 years

If you're caught DUI it's an automatic 6 month minimum suspension of your license. It could be more but 6 mo. is the minimum. That's first offense, no pleading to the judge or trying to weasel you way out of it.
A friend of mine recently got a ticket for doing 112k in an 80k zone and I believe it was over $400 plus you have to pay ICBC back for any discount you might have received when you purchased insurance for the year. I know his total out of pocket was over $700!! Not to long ago there was a guy while killed a woman will being under the influence. He had been living in Canada for over 20 years but was only a permanent resident. They deported him back to his home country and he's banned from ever returning!!

Want to hear about high pricing, get caught in Japan with a DUI/DWI and minimum fine is ¥500,000 all the way up to ¥1,000,000 (current exchange is ¥88/US$1, do the math ) and guess what the intoxication level is... .02%. 1 beer and a good handful of people would pop for this. There is not first offense, you get caught and get ready to pay the piper.
Over my years living in Okinawa, I think I paid out about ¥280,000 in speeding tickets. My highest one was for ¥75000 and that was for going 104km/h in a 60km/h zone (empty road, except for cop hiding on side of road and then further up the road cops waved me over to receive my ticket). Anything 40km/h over the limit though and you have to go to traffic court versus just paying your ticket within 7 days. Another ticket I was lucky on, I was on the expressway, top speed of 80km/h and I was doing probably about 210km/h when I passed a rest area and the Teggy was screaming its lovely scream, up in the distance I saw a police van so began to slow down, next thing I know in my rearview is an undercover cop car. Pulled me over and tagged me for 112km/h. So so so lucky on that one. Still lost my license for 6 months and paid about ¥40000, but could of been much worse.
I have never street raced against another vehicle or on roadways with traffic. I still don't condone even my own actions, but sometimes my foot's brain tells my other brain it is taking over when there is no traffic.
Stay safe and try to keep it to a track.

I will say that Canada is much harder when it comes to driving enforcement. The fines are a lot higher /.../ A friend of mine recently got a ticket for doing 112k in an 80k zone and I believe it was over $400 plus you have to pay ICBC back for any discount you might have received when you purchased insurance for the year. Nice! I love pushing my fit to the limit! Safely ofcourse
Fastest I've gone was 110+mph with 3 of my friends and they weighed atleast 550-600 lbs total. Fun times
Oh yea, how'd you take off your rear seats?????

Ok I guess I'm one of the dumb ones too. I commute daily early in the morning, and before 6 AM it is crazy here in Houston! I usually hit triple digits no matter what I'm driving/riding. I guess that's why I have the sense to not buy faster stuff. My bike is limited @ 125 MPH Actual speed (130+ MPH indicated) It is very comfortable at that speed. My Civic saw 110 MPH on a regular basis. I never payed much attention to Top Speed in the Fit but I know I have gone 100+ MPH. I haven't hit the limiter. I'll have to keep a closer eye on it and post back.
Oh and for the sane ones, if it's any consolation all traffic is going 90+ MPH so if you're on the road around 5 AM in Houston stay to the right. I won't be the only one to fly by you!
The go-kart effect of the Fit keeps me smiling! Oh and The commute home is a bumper to bumper 40-60 MPH so I still get over 350 miles per tank. Have fun and try to be safe!
Do as I say not as I do...

I think it takes a bit too long to hit those speeds in the Fit, which is good for me.
My previous car was a Mini Cooper S and that thing hit 110 a little too easily. That supercharger whine was just too sweet to resist...

Ok on the drive in this morning I was cruising @ 105 MPH indicated. I was not alone but keeping far back from other cruisers... Just for the record yes I have a Manual and I know the OP stated AT but it's just what I've done.

I shudder to think what would happen if I had a car with the acceleration of a bike (as I shudder to think where I'd get the money for a Ferrari!). I may switch out to a dual sport in a year or two - it would open a new world of lower-speed thrills.

Man this is not where I was heading for when I started this thread but looks like this thread is becoming "What's the fastest u ever gone with ur FIT?" lol But seriously, don't try to be a hero people. I don't want anyone to get hurt But then, u guys freaking ROCK!!!

I haven't been above 90 in my Fit, since too fast in AZ is a felony. Rock solid at 90. Fastest was my 66 Dodge Charger. 140 mph on an Illinois freeway. Just ran out of clear road. But that was in another millenium, when I was REALLY stupid. (Lucky to still be here)
