Ok. Attempt #2 - the fit is not very entertaining as a straightline car. It is what would be called "unfast" in NewSpeak. Pushing it to its limits in a straightaway means holding te pedal down and waiting until it creeps up to higher speeds, watching the spedometer creep upwards like a slowly filling coffeepot.
It shines on twisty roads, where the lack of significant body roll and quick steering make it zip around corners like a MarioKart. Pushing to the limits in the corners will have you sweating as you hear the tires start to chirp and scream in protest, knowing that with FWD, you can't dial in any power-oversteer. it has great seat bolstering, good aightlines, and you can keep it revved into the powerband and have a bit of fun gunning it out of the corners. That's where the Fit's magic lies. Different strokes for different folks.
And as I mentioned, the bike has taken the thrill out of gunning a slowish car on a straightaway. And yes, the risk is a large part of the adrenaline rush. Who gets a major thrill cruisig at Mach .85 (~500 mph) in a passenger jet?

i maxed my fit out at 125 mph on i-95 going down to VB. i must say it was awesome and had no problem with handling what so ever as a matter of fact it handled better at 125 then my old exploder handled at 90-100. anyways cant wait til the east coast honda meet saturday!

^ haha i must agree with the speeding on public roads...
but once i was with 2 of my friends/neighbors. they both drive mini vans haha and they always race when theyre together, but we were driving home and the road we live off of is like a 2 miles straight away but theres 2 lights, it was like 1 in the morning and when we came to the light i knew they were gonna race, so i was like wth ill go fast for once. we all took off, i was behind them since its only 2 lanes and once there was a gap between them i squeezed threw them then took off! i got to like 80 then saw the light was red so i started to downshift, then it turned green when i was in 3rd, so i just gunned it and went up to 100 then my neighborhood came up so i had to stop

great read, very nice my friend.
Just got back from Orlando.
140 in a car, 130 on a motorcycle, but what is an amazing thrill is 130 on a frozen lake on a snowmobile. Especially the 25 mile long lake Gogebic in the Michigan U.P.

You guys are crazy. I would never go that fast on a public road, except maybe in a completely desolate area, which means only a few places in the US.
btw - reading this thread over, my sarcastic reference to the fit being a sports car is stemming from this thread.

Occam, your first post did read pretty harsh, but nice clarification.
I've had it up to 90 once or twice, but around here most people are doing between 75 and 85, so you have to move just to keep up usually.

Guys, what are penalties for speeding over there.
We have speed limit on a highway 80 mph (130 km/h).
If you are speeding for more than 30 mph (50 km/h) the penalty is at least $350 which is actually very little.
If you are speeding for more than 19 mph in an urban area, speed limit is 31 mph, the penalty is at least $1200.
In each case you loose your driving licence for some time.
For dangerous driving (overspeed for more than one time and if you cause dangerous situation ... even if there is no consequences and damage you can go to prison for up to 3 years

Yeah it was heavily modded. It looked really clean. I have since sold it. I had Advan rims and a lot of other JDM goodies on it. Id post pics but I dont want to get screamed at by the fit faithful

Wow, I never knew so many people would read this when I posted... lol Anyway, yeah it was way fun to drive on a super quiet road where u see a car coming every 5 mins Also I was suprised that it had so many curves even though the road was flat as hell Like people said, don't drive fast (over the speed limits) on public roads Also, yes, I'm young and stupid But seriously, pushing GE8 100 mph on curves where say 45mph recomanded is so much fun... I still can't believe the Fit handled so well compared to other cars that we had. I don't think I'm doing any suspension work soon since I don't plan on pushing the car harder than what I did last weekend
