Just bought Fit, looking for ideas

Ok I finally bought my 2010 Black Honda Fit Sport today. The first thing I want to get is some wheels. What is the biggest size I can get without any rubbing or sticking out, so I will know exactly when I start looking at some?

I'm looking for black wheels, maybe chrome black.

What else should I do and what does anyone else recommend?
Thanks!

Well--

The running theory is that 45mm offset is what you should look for to avoid rubbing. Some are running 40 or 42 with no or minimal problems--but it's a risk.
Tires, probably 205/50/16 (if you're getting 16s)

There are a lot of brands/styles/colors but you'll probably want to get something that is lighter than the stock wheel--I'm not sure of the weight...think its around 17.5lbs

What kind of budget do you have?
That will also determine your choices.

I don't really have a budget just under maybe $1,500 for 4 w/tires. I just want to make sure I get the right sizes.

Ok that leaves you around 200 per wheel. (taking into account some decent tires and mounting/balancing/lugs)

Well--check out Enkei RPF1's...people around here RAVE about those wheels--timeless style, light weight, durability.

Ooor....check out Buddy Club wheels--they are around that and are a "name brand" and also not too heavy and have some other colors.

Another option is to check out Rota. Check out JLBMotorsports.com (wheels, rota) and take a look at those styles--although, some of those are hard to find in 45mm. 40mm is easy to find--and in many styles but you may rub a bit loaded down or on large bumps.

I have checked out a few, so far I really like the new Buddy Club Kuroki F91. They're not really out yet and looks hard to find anywhere. I did see them at CorSport Online Store: Wheels - Wheels & Rims - 17 Inches - BC01-p1F91Kurok &
Buddy Club Kuroki F91 17" Wheel - JHPUSA

but i'm not sure how valid the site are yet. Do you think they would be a good size at 17X7.5 ET42 4X100?

Those look nice...

I believe 205/40/17?

Check out 1010tires.com click on tire calculator...

you can compare it with stock sizes and see what's closest in size.

OK it looks like i'm going to get these wheels, I want to know, anybody what tire size I should get? Tirerack is recommending Tire Size: 205/45-17 is that what I should get with this wheel being
also from that what kind of tire should I get? I really only need something for summer times since it snows about 8 Months a year in upstate NY. Kumho Ecsta AST looks to be maybe the cheapest, not sure if thats a bad move or not.

Thanks

reprogram? I didn't know that either, so if tirerack installs them I still got to reprogram them?

I've tried on 17x7.5 +40mm offset with no rubbing on stock height.

As for tires, I would go with Toyo Proxes4 205/40/17 since they're only 19+ lbs per tire, and cost about $77 per tire? Not sure about the price, but that's what I saw at a local tire shop by my house.

http://toyotires.com/tire/pattern/proxes-4 19.4 lbs per tire!!

PROXES 4 | Toyo Tires 19.4 lbs per tire!!
So what's the difference from 205/40/17 or 205/45/17? Just not sure what those numbers mean except for the 17.

If you have tirerack install them and then ship the wheels/tires to you, you'll need a trip to the dealer for programming (so the car can recognize the Sensors). if you move your current sensors over to the new wheels and have the mount/balance done locally, you shouldn't need a trip to the dealer. I'd move the sensors over and then leave the stock wheels for winter tires. If you want TPMS in both sets of wheels, you'll need two annual trips to the dealer, (each time you swap the wheels). I'd say skip the tpms on the stock wheels as I can't imagine Syracuse getting 8 months of snow. (realistically probably closer to 3 months of good snowfall and some flurries/scattered snow storms for a month or two on either side - It's not close enough to get the majority of lake-effect). Here in VT, we are lucky if we get 5 months worth of potential snowfall. usually Mid Dec to Mid Mar is our snow time-frame so the Snows usually go on the car around Thanksgiving and come off around Easter.

Tirerack reviewers rave about the Continental Extreme Contact DWS...maybe look at those?

And I was just guessing on the size--I'LL GO LOOK FOR YOU...

185/55/60 (stock) ------------ 205/45/17 --------------- 205/40/17
Diameter: 24.01--------------- 24.26-------------------- 23.45
Diameter Difference:----------- 1.04%------------------- 2.34%

BTW...the "45" and "40" in 205/45 or 205/40 means that the height of the sidewall of the tire is 45% of 205mm or 40% of 205mm (205 being the width)
