Blacked out housing! Show me yours!!!!

I was thinking I'd start this thread for people who wanted to see how their housing would look on their fits, hopefully other fit owners with other colors or the same will post.

I tried trading with a dude yesterday that I don't even know on the street!! Lol he had the blue sens base model and the headlighs were blacked out already!. But he wasn't trying to hear that!! I'm so tempted on trying to take them apart to paint them but my fear is not sealing it right and then it fogs up

Go to Pep Boys and buy a box of 3M Window Weld and add some to the sealing surface of the headlights. Then heat them back up, put them together, and clamp them down.

You know what'll be cool that nobody has done yet for the GE's, is body color headlights!!! OUr GD's come with them, so someone should try it for the GE's.

Nice! I thought it was more of a grey though lol
I've always heard they were like a grey you got any pics up close?

I used the CLEAR RTV SILICONE to make sure I got in the spots where I wasn't sure the glue had all melted back, and I also went back and cut out small strips of black duct tape and cover the latches that you have to open when you bake them open. I was worried about fogging a couple days after I had done this because it rained pretty hard for 2 days but nothing happened!

I have been jealous of the GD with body colour and would like mine done in Taffy but I think I got other stuff to mess up first. Besides the stock ones do not look that bad really on a Taffy. And as there are so few Fits around here I doubt if anyone would notice. I know I can't see them when I am driving.

It's black, not pitch black, more like a bit lighter black. I think on a white Fit it looks black, but on my silver Fit, it doesn't look as black.

Umm I think the base and the sport have the same headlights I may be wrong... Mine are grey and look like a big old fail on a black fit the black gd looks more finished with the black out headlights

Yeah, I'm with you, man!

Maybe I'll loosen up and get brave enough to do that after I've had my Fit for awhile. Then again, we can look at it this way... we can always just go out and buy new headlights if it screws up!

To the OP:

They turned out really nice. Great job... looks like factory.

The black really works better on the GE than the GD. That is a great look.
