Rear disk brakes?

Hey guys, I'm pretty sure this has been discussed before (if not, yay!) but I can't find it for some reason using search... Anyhow, I was wondering if it is possible to swap the rear drum brakes to disk types. I don't think I'm gonna autox my GE8 or slam on the brakes 2 feet before a car infront of me all the time but just curious if anyone done it and for how much money. Plus I would like to put a Brembo kit in the future just like my CR-V (yes, I have a $2.5k brake system on my tiny SUV... ). Thanks guys!

Maybe try this:

Here's a search tip. I never search a website. Always search from google directly. For example, in your case, I would enter this into google search:

rear disk brake conversion site:fitfreak.net

yeah good link above

in addition...........

the hub plates ore welded on the GE, so you just might need a new torsion beam from another country.

Honestly speaking, not worth your time. The fronts do a majority of the braking, and the money spend getting JDM torsion beam/calipers/cables/hubs, etc could be better spent on new front rotors, good pads, stainless lines and fluid. Keep in mind you would also need a JDM brake master cyl/prop valve and quite possibly an ABS module flash.

Unless you were going to outright track the car, a rear disk conversion on an econobox like the Fit is totally useless.

agreed. i don't think it's worth the aggravation especially
if it's starts getting technical with the ABS stuff.

Has anyone tried to source parts from Honda Mexico?
it looks like they get the JDM version
Honda Autos | Honda Fit

Google Translate
They get
4 wheel disk brakes
6-way drivers seat
red instrument panel
LONG version

If you're patient, the easiest way to source parts will probably be from the CR-Z when it becomes available . . . I'm hoping (but not optimistic) that it'll be backwards compatible to the GD.
