A 2 Fit family?

A 2 Fit family?
Ever since I bought my Fit last August, my wife has been taking MY car more and more. She has never been a "car person" as long as whatever car she was in was transporting her reliably. But not now! Now she is pointing out Fits as we're driving and she has made it clear that she loves the Orange Revolution Sport.
Well, I just called my salesman and he says that they have a 2010 Orange Revolution on the floor and that they're expecting 5 more Fits by the end of the weekend. So who knows? We may have 2 Fits in the garage by the end of the weekend!

(chanting) DO IT! DO IT! DO IT! lol
yea...when i first talked about getting the fit with my wife, she was like, "it's ugly and small and has no trunk." but now that we've owned it for over 1.5 years, she likes it quite a bit more and understands why i chose this car (trunk space with seats down, the "magic" seats, great mileage, easy to drive and park, etc etc)
i'd love to have a second one to do different things to

I'm not a big fan of having two of the same cars in the same household but, black and white Fits... that's cool.

My wife and I both have '09 Fits. She got the first one. We have the same car because we both concluded the Fit was the best car that met our needs. I know that if I had bought something else, I would always be looking over at my wife's Fit and thinking "I wish I had one of those".

I never considered myself a "car person" either. I was a motorcycle guy all my life. A car was something you drove in the winter, or when you needed to carry stuff. The Fit is the first car I've ever owned that I feel "enthusiastic" about.
The last three new cars I bought, my Mom and Dad would go right out and buy the same car. Mom passed away in '07, and Dad now lives in a nursing home, and his driving days are behind him. If not, I'm sure he'd have bought a Fit by now. He loves to go for a ride in mine.

We have 2 and it's a little too redundant in terms of usefulness (they have the same capabilities). The only reason we're keeping both for now is that they're great all-around cars and there's really nothing else on the market that's exciting, cheap, and fuel efficient. I considered a CR-Z when they come out but I wouldn't be able to deal with having only 2 seats, and the price is likely to be too high for what you get.
I think the wife's next car will be an electric (she really likes the Nissan Leaf, which will be $25k after tax credit). I am getting really excited about the FT-86 though. If we go that route we'll keep one Fit for long road trips, and for my commute to work.
Too great of a car not to have one, but not really necessary to have two.
