tire size with springs

so i'm taking the plunge into lowering my fit. i'm pumped about driving another lowered car. feels so much better. anyways, i'm getting a set of T1R springs, which apparently drop the car 1.6 and 1.4 if my mind serves me correctly. i'm keeping my stock 16's for now, and hope to get another set of 16" retracks soon. the tires on my 16's are pretty well shot now, and i'm getting the springs in a few weeks. so i need to get some tires, and i'd like to know what some peeps are running. what do you all find looks the best with that ride height? on my 93 civic hatchback i had 15's with a 195/55/R15 tire. my civic is completely different than the fit, so i'm asking for some help. i don't want to buy a tire that will rub when i lower it, or one that won't fill the wheel well in nice. thanks in advance. lol

probably a ge cuz this thread is in the 2nd gen section.

for a ge, if you wanna stay on the safe side i think 16x7 is good. i probably wouldn't go wider than a 7.5 inch rim unless you know exactly what you're doing in terms of lowering and tire size and whatnot.

Aren't the retracks only available in a 40mm offset? If so I believe you may have issues depending on tire size. Closest to stock that is wider is 205/50/16 but I think with 40mm offset you'd be having rubbing issues. I could and may very well be wrong though.

no you're close anything 40 or less for offset can cause rubbing. I run 15's on my sport with 45 offset and I'm dropped with sportlines. 205/60/15 work perfect for me. You could probably run 16's with a 50 0r 45 profile and they'll fit just fine. I wouldn't be to concerned about the fitment if you buy them from a solid place they'll help with that. Keep in mind when you'll be driving the car and in what weather, that should play a huge part in your tire decision.
