My wife's Fit has AT. I tried to convince her to get one with MT, but she didn't.
I never liked AT until now. I find myself driving her car more than she does.

We can (have) argued this to death. AT/MT, Base/Sport, why do some people feel compelled to diss other people's choices? Buy what you like and don't judge others.

yeah to each their own. I bought a M/T because its fun for me, and i bought a base because i have no need for the bells and whistles. And dont have to go through the trouble of selling the oem stuff to make way for aftermarket goodies =]

Why automatics are fun:
1. Makes driving in traffic easier
2. Makes driving uphill easier
3. You can hold you significant other's hand
4. No more having a hard time shifting while getting road head

as a daily Auto Fit is fine, Manual is cool too,
but for sportier cars to say a S2000 is fun to drive in Auto (thank god they dont make it in auto), then hell no, those type of cars should always be manual

agreed. Still can't beleive that Mitsubishi would stoop so low as to produce a A/T EvoX. Porsches and ferraris in A/T are understandable though. Most old men don't have the calf power to depress a clutch like those of real sports car. LOL!

the Evo X and GTR are hardly a normal auto tranny. They are basically clutch less MT. This is the future and if the Fit had a tranny like the Evo X it would be a different game.

yeah I suppose it is pretty cool. But its still not a real M/T. If I had a choice between a regular M/T EvoX or one of those crazy clutchless doo-dad EvoX's i'd still go for the M/T. =]

Never knew they had a clutchless MT. I hated the look of the evoX so much I didn't bother to look into it. Thanks for the info!

lots of new cars coming with that new dual clutch tranny, it actually has 2 clutches in the tranny, just no clutch pedal so its like an auto,
before looking at buying the fit, i was considering the new VW GTI with dual clutch, but was afraid of the maintenance cost later on

Hit the nail on the head with #1. If you've ever driven in LA traffic, you know what I mean.
All the others are also bonuses.

Another hit on the head. I love my AT. Paddle shifters make it that much more fun. Ya sometimes i wish i got manual but after driving the car and i hit traffic, that goes away real fast. Plus with the way my car looks, i have NEVER gotten anybody tell me "dude ur car is gay its AT" cuz they STFU when i roll up slammed and boosted.
