Bluetooth® HandsFreeLink® volume way too low (iPhone)
Greetings. My girlfriend just brought home a 2010 Fit Sport with navigation, and I had them add the Bluetooth® HandsFreeLink® system to her vehicle. They install a secondary box just past the interior dome lights, and this box contains the microphone and speaker plus a few buttons. I was under the impression it might integrate with the car sound system, using the speakers and muting the stereo when a call came in.
Alas, it does not (the guy at the dealership was wrong, surprise!). It's literally just a box they bolt to the roof which can plug in to power. You still have to turn off the radio yourself. $600 not well spent :-)
The problem we have is that the volume is too low during a call. THe calls are so quiet, you cannot hear them while driving at highway speeds. The unit itself has a good speaker -- the voice prompts and playback can be cranked up REAL LOUD, but the actual calls are very quiet. We are testing it with Apple iPhone 3GS phones.
Does anyone else have this unit? Does yours work? Our dealer didn't know of any way to internally adjust call volume.
I also notice that this unit is currently not on Honda's site anymore but there is a Google cache of the page -- maybe Honda is having issues with it?

That's the cache. I'd love to hear from others who have used this. Thanks!

i don't have the OEM bluetooth speakerphone. i do however use a blueant supertooth speakerphone w/ my iphone 3G. the volume is just fine. have you tried pairing and using another model mobile phone? see if you can narrow down the problem.
