its kinda interesting by itself, but i'm sure the colors will looks weird with a lot of the new cars heh

Screw you all. No plate will ever be as bad as the ones we had here in Kentucky a few years ago. Yes, this was the default plate. Worst. Design. Ever.

I thought that the NY legislature had put the new plates on hold. Last I heard, they decided it would be cheaper to just raise the registration rates and license fees, so you'd pay more without getting a new plate.

I looked through the DMV website, but couldn't find a word about new plates, just the raised fees. I can't say for sure, but I'm surprised that the DMV website doesn't say anything about this if it's already a done deal.

New York to replate, no charge to drivers

The original plan was to ante up for the new plate on renewal. My understanding is that now you get the new design only if you are getting a new plate. So the Empire State plates should be around for a while.
