Rear window defroster and heated mirrors - no auto shutoff

My Dodge Caravan has automatic shutoff after about 15 minutes or so. Plenty of time for windows and mirrors to de-ice.

I find in the Fit I tend to forget to turn them off unless I look down and see the switch lit so I often am driving around with them on. It is also on even when you shut off the car and re-start it.

I wonder if there is some way to install an auto turnoff? I wonder what the Dodge part number is?

My father-in-law's Olds has auto shutoff, and it drives me crazy, because I have to keep hitting the damned button to keep the rear window heater on in wet weather.

I love the fact there's no auto shutoff for the Rear defroster it's a pain to have to keep turning it on because my rear window on every car has never remained snow/ice free once defrosted (and the defr is off). it's also Nice to hop in the car and the defroster is on without me having to turn it on during the winter.

wish we had heated mirrors here though.

The heated mirrors are nice.

I also noticed this the other day. I didn't turn off the defroster and when I got out and back in it came on again. I thought that maybe mine was faulty and I was going to look in the manual, but now I guess I don't have to.

I don't understand why we don't have heated mirrors in the US. That's just crazy!

At least, should make heated mirrors as part of Winter package. I had to install it myself.

Yes, heated mirrors for 2010 Honda Insight will fit 2009/2010 Honda FIT mirrors. You need to run 2 wires from each side to rear defogger circuit.

The mirrors only, or the entire assembly, including the outer shell, with turn signal lights? Not that there is great need for heated mirrors in Georgia. Heated seats, on the other hand, would be wonderful.

I replaced mirrors only. Since I already have JDM side mirrors with integrated turn signal and auto-fold.
