GE8's in the snow: pictures and experiences

Then there are the nice winter days. These are my expensive 15" Fit Steelies @ $81 EACH. Then almost another $600 for tires. I have only really needed them a couple of times so far this winter..

If that picture of the Civic is relatively recent, you definitely deserve congratulations on a job well done! There aren't many 21 year old Québec Honda's (or Toyota's, or Mazda's, etc.) that look that good!

They're still worth it. They're called winter tires which stay soft in low temps maintaining traction where as all seasons start to harden up at 7 degrees celcius and lose they're gripping abilities. It's a good investment. I swear by all my winter tires, snow or no snow.

I was really impressed with my Fit in all the snow!! I spent two hours shoveling just to get a path from my house to the driveway clear, a space around the Fit clear, and the Fit itself clear from snow. I had to make it to work so I couldn't shovel out the rest of the driveway completely. I was kind of worried about getting stuck on such high snow.
But I shouldn't have been! Bam! My Fit went over that 14" pile of snow like it wasn't even there. I didn't even have any wheels spin! And I'm running stock Dunlops! And later last night it did the same thing even though all that snow had frozen over!
I keep getting more and more impressed with this little car. Yay!

Didn't even drive
Yesterday turned out to be an interesting one for my lil' 2009 Fit Sport in York, Pa. I was stuck at work for two days, and so as I was uncovering the snow in the parking lot, I found a snow plow scrape on the passenger side. I guess maybe because it was white it was hard to see piled under the mess? Anyway, that's my Fit snow story. Hopefully, it'll be back to its beautiful car self soon.

Sorry about your Taffy White getting scraped.

No pics, but with 15's and old school Blizzaks it handled the small snow events with no issues. I'll need new tire for the next snow season, but the little car impressed me. Little hard starting off (my old car had an LSD + Studded General Altimaxes), but once you get going its fine with snows. Don't know how you people manage with all seasons. Even if I get an AWD car, its still getting snows.

Western Ohio has not been hit with as much show as NE Ohio (lake effect hell) or the eastern seaboard. The most we've had in one shot was 5 - 6 inches and my Fit handled it just fine on the stock Dunlop 7000s.
The last two days we've had the ice storm from hell and the Fit sits in the garage. Not because it couldn't handle it but because it would royally piss me off if some douche driving like an idiot would total it by losing control and crashing into me.
I've been driving my 10 yo Dodge 4WD truck and I can't wait for the ice to go away so I can drive the Fit again.
