AEM's R&D department may need your 2010 Fit for prototyping air intake systems

This is from AEM's website:

AEM's R&D department may need your car for prototyping air intake systems!

If you own one of the listed vehicles, live near Hawthorne, California, and are willing to leave your vehicle with AEM for 1-2 weeks, please select the vehicle from the list below then complete the remaining fields in the corresponding form. Please list all modifications that you have made to your vehicle. Anyone allowing AEM's R&D department to use their car or truck for intake system development will be compensated with a FREE air intake system once it goes into production.

No. I'm not advertising. I did a search on intakes and I don't see a good CAI for GE8s. There's a lot of SRI but they will suck in hot air. I'm in CA. and I need a CARB legal CAI.

I emailed AEM and got this reply from them:

Hi,

Thank you for your interest in the AEM product line, unfortunately we don’t have an application for your vehicle, please check the website regularly for updates. Per R & D this is on their list but no other information is available.

Are you local to the Los Angeles area? We’re looking for cars to test. AEM - Cars and Trucks Needed for Product Development

If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact our customer service department by e-mail or at (800) 992-3000.

Thank you for choosing AEM Intakes Systems!

The engine bay doesn't even get hot enough to melt ice off the hood. Don't buy an intake for the performance because you just won't notice it. Buy it for the sound.

But, but I KNOW my car is faster with the intake, I can tell! I swear I mustve gained like 10 horsepower, I totally pulled on my moms Chevy Astro by like half a car! Also my mpg went up by 1!!! That means in 60 years I would have recouped the money I spent on the intake!

"qbmurderer13", You believe in intakes because I found your post on this forum about buying in to T1R intakes.

YOU WROTE THIS:

"Really looking forward for all T1R parts. Ill definately be getting the intake and the exhaust. Keep us updated."

Ok thanks for the background check creep. I am getting an intake because it looks pretty in my engine bay and the improved throttle response. I dont buy an intake expecting it to make my car so much faster or to gain mpg.

PRM ftw. That T1R one, while very aesthetically appealing, sucks more money then it does air.

I bought the PRM for the best placement of filter, good design for my nitrous installation, price and best claimed HP.
