Rotas are perfectly fine, street or track.

Must I keep reiterating that I've already subjected my Circuit 10s to three trackdays? They came out without a scratch.

Heck, from my experience, there's more possibility of damaging wheels in daily driving situations due to crappy roads and potholes you can only see at the last minute. That's exactly how I bent them.

All the photos I've seen here show wheels in various stages of catastrophic failure. While Rotas aren't immune to that or other wheel-related damage, you have to give them credit for their wheels' strength - especially because there's such a shortage of Rota defenders who will attest to their quality. I suffered a pretty bad wheel-bending accident when a runaway wheel chock snaked across the highway with me driving at 50 mph. You'd expect my cheap-ass Rota wheels to fail, but nope - they just got bent and retained their integrity. All the damage to the tire was some sidewall cracking and a slow leak. Had my wheel been inferior, the tire would have ripped itself off the wheel. A repair and a changed tire later and I'm back to thrashing them on the track.

Rotas are good wheels on a budget, period. Cut the brand snobbery.

I don't know, man. You have a lot more experience expressing your opinion around here than me.

But I do have to say, of all the cars you could have possibly bought:

Yeah... I mean really, a Galant? It's not like Mitsubishi made a VR-4 version that would wipe out most anything on the road during it's time... Or that it's a reliable car and quite comfortable.

The Galant is not a bad car and mitsubishi makes/made some nice vehicles. (3000GT, Eclipse, Evo, etc...) I've been in a few and while IMO, it's not quite as fun as the fit, the Galant is a good car with plenty of potential. it's not like it's an escort or a caliber.

And yes I did buy them brand new, I have never purchased 2nd hand wheels, I like to be the first molester of what is going on my cars. There are lots of us that buy brand new, think about it, if there wasn't there wouldn't be shops like UpGarage operating for you and your friends to buy wheels and tires cheap. So one is an idiot in Japan to buy Rotas, but not if they live somewhere else? WTF is that logic? So deep down what are you really saying about Rotas? It seems to me that you are the one discounting the wheel, not I, I just discount the practice of the company.

With your last paragraph, who are you asking do I hate? The rest of the world, BBS or all the companies that have copied BBS? Have you heard of reading comprehension, what have I stated many times already?
Your location has a lot to do with it...for us who live here in the US by the way. If we have the same thing here... people that knows volks, works and 5zigen etc. probably will not buy brand new Rotas. Because, for the same price of a brand new rotas you can buy a very good used set of Volks, works etc.
You said, you hate copied products, how about Volks SF's and Vs that look exactly the same as BBS? Works Sporbd...looks like a copy of
Alpina's. Almost every wheel company copied BBS and nobody complained about it. Why? because it's not against the law. If it is...Rotas wont be here anymore. Rotas are very good wheels for their intended purpose. I used them at track events during my Nissan days. Spec miata guys used them on racing events as well.
Will you pls. read my last post again. If you are in japan and "buy rotas from japan"...yes you are an idiot. Why? It's the price and availability of new and used (specially) wheel sets over there copared to buying and shipping rotas to Japan. Unless, they sell Rotas in Japan now.
Thank you very much for buying brand new wheels. Who knows, it might end up in Up-garage in the future. If it does, and i have the opportunity to visit Japan...i might end up buying your set. For cheap.

I use to track/autocross with Rota's C-8s instead of my Sprint Hart CPR's and they held up well (a lot of force went on the rims when I X-crossed). Can't go wrong with $400 for a set of wheels and do whatever you want with them. Replacing a wheel wouldn't cost an arm.

You fail because they do look the same. Admitting so would contradict everything you've been fighting for in this thread. Get over it man.

You're not saying you bought a car and enjoy it because it looks like a more expensive, better car, are you?
