right way to slow and downshift?

While this technique works well in some vehicles, it doesn't in a Fit, (at least not mine).
These transmissions will let the syncros engage when the gears are still far from matched. Inevitable result is lots of grinding. I'm sure you could get better at it with practice, I just don't think its worth the wear and tear on your transmission while learning.
