Unlocking doors

I have a 2009 Fit Sport/AT. Ive read the threads on how to get ALL the doors to automatically unlock when the engine is shut off. None of the ideas ive read seem to work. Whats the secret??
Thanks

Make sure "your vehicle is parked, the engine turned off, and apply the parking brake." (page 83 of 09 owners manual)

I don't remember if I set the brake when I did mine, I probably did. That might be the secret.

Are you sure you want it to unlock when you turn it off (turn the ignition switch from the on position to the accessory position)? This is described on page 87. Here it is:

Be sure to not start the engine when you do the procedure. You only need to move the ignition switch to the on position without starting.

Note the other inputs: brake pedal pressed, AT selector moved out of park, pushing and holding the lock button till you hear the appropriate number of clicks (4?). And then releasing the switch, turning the ignition to off, moving back to park, in the precise order listed. Write down the steps in your own terms if need be and review them before trying on the car.

It's not simple but it should work.

Most people want to have their doors unlock when moving the transmission to Park (described on page 86).
